The therapist creates a session code. Both partners join from their Closer Couples apps.
For therapists and couples
Support the conversation without opening the whole relationship.
Closer Couples gives verified therapists a private way to send thoughtful questions, review answers a couple chooses to share, and continue meaningful work between sessions.
A private bridge between sessions
Useful context, without becoming therapy or an EHR.
The therapist workspace is for structured questions, selected answers, approved history, and therapist notes. It is not therapy, not telehealth, not a diagnostic tool, and not an electronic health record.
How therapist access works
Four steps, with consent at every important boundary.
The therapist selects an eligible question or prepares a custom draft with a framing note.
Each partner answers for themselves. One partner cannot answer on behalf of the other.
The therapist reviews submitted answers. Partner sharing follows the approved reveal flow.
Couple control
Your therapist sees what you choose.
Connecting with a therapist does not open the full Closer Couples space. Both partners join, approve the scope, choose eligible history to share, and can end therapist access without unlinking the couple.
Therapist features
A workspace built around the couple.
Questions chosen for real conversations
Catalog examples stay practical, not diagnostic.
Therapist-eligible content should be reviewed before launch. These examples are safe catalog directions, not clinical assessments or relationship scores.
Which listening habits make repair feel safer?
Which little conversations help you feel connected?
Which kind of date sounds easiest to enjoy this week?
Therapist security
Your workspace is private too.
Therapist records are stored in an encrypted local vault protected by a therapist-chosen passphrase. Closer Couples does not receive the vault passphrase, and losing the backup passphrase may make a backup unrecoverable.
Availability and clinical limits
Built for privacy conscious clinical workflows, with careful limits.
Therapist access is initially available to eligible Mississippi professionals. Signed business associate agreements are not yet available, so Closer Couples does not currently claim the therapist service is HIPAA compliant. Read the HIPAA and clinical data notes before using Closer Couples in a regulated practice.
