If you are in danger
Closer Couples is not a crisis service and nobody here monitors your content. If you or your partner are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line in your country.
Common questions
I lost my phone. Can I get my history back?
Usually yes. Your recovery phrase restores your couple's key on a new device, and your partner has the same phrase, so ask them if you cannot find yours. Your partner can also restore you directly from their device, confirming a 6-digit code you read to them out loud. The security page explains the recovery trade-off.
If both of you have lost your devices and neither has the phrase, the content cannot be recovered. We do not hold the key, so there is nothing on our side to restore from.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your account record and the couple data associated with it.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Through the store you bought it from (Google Play or the App Store), not through us. We do not hold your payment details and cannot cancel or refund on your behalf. Pricing and billing notes live on the pricing page.
Can I export my data?
Not yet. Export is planned but not built, and we would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise. Note that end-to-end encrypted content could only ever be exported from your own device, since we cannot read it. The privacy policy keeps the current export status explicit.
Can my partner see my whole profile?
No. They see a minimal card: your name, photo, and gender. The rest of your account record is not visible to them, and our servers enforce that rather than relying on the app to be polite about it.
Reporting a security issue
If you have found a vulnerability, email [email protected] with "Security" in the subject. Please give us a reasonable window to fix it before disclosing publicly. We will not pursue action against anyone who reports in good faith and does not access other people's data.
